Kerry Litschke
Founder and C.E.O.

Kerry founded Aura Computers in the year 1982. Under his leadership, Aura Computers evolved in its form and business. It was important to re-brand the firm for new business opportunities. Aura Advanced Technologies was the result of branding efforts of Kerry and his team which helped Aura re-position itself to embrace emerging ASP market opportunities.

Kerry has extensive oil and gas experience and over 25 years of experience in the IT industry. Kerry provides consulting to many clients across industries with their IT investment decisions and planning. On several occasions, he has helped senior executives understand the business process flow and identified opportunities to leverage their IT capabilities. Kerry has continually expanded his technical knowledge through relevant certifications such as MCSE, PMLM, CAN. Technically, he specializes in Local and Wide Area Network design and is currently obtaining his Masters in BPM from the University of San Francisco.

He pioneered the Business Process Flow model at Aura. Kerry's focus on delivering business-centered IT solutions has underlined success of Business Process Improvement practice at Aura. His clients include Bernard Callebaut, Calgary Flames, CenAlta Well Services, Newpark Environmental, Crown Energy and Eastside Dodge, Argo, BJ Electric, Symbiosis Genetics. A renowned philanthropist, Kerry shares a deep interest in community service. He continues to sponsor many underprivileged children across the globe and has contributed to many building projects in the developing world. Kerry is fond of adventurous sports.

 

Jim Balkwill
V.P. Risk Mitigation Services

A veteran of the technology industry for more than 20 years, Jim leads our IT Security and Compliance practice. Jim offers consulting to clients relating to legislative compliance, disaster recovery and business continuity. His strong project management skills combined with his security audit experience have helped companies get better bang for their buck and leveraged their IT infrastructure.

Before joining Aura, Jim was Director of Technical Operation for Infogem Canada. He managed all technical operations and specialized in security, network infrastructure, design/implementation and project management. As Operations Manager for Westeel Rosco, a division of Jannock steel, he directly reported to the president.

With over 18,000 project management hours of managing solutions of in excess of 2 million dollars, Jim is a self-proclaimed evangelist of Information Security. He has been asked to speak at many Information technology summits on contemporary topics such as Project Management and Information Security. He is considered one of the foremost instructors in the area of information security in western Canada and has been invited to teach at the Canadian police college. In 1992 Jim was recognized for his contributions to Canada by being awarded the Canada 125 medal.

He holds the most coveted industry certifications such as PMP,CISSP, CCNP, MCSE +I, MCDBA, CCA, MET, CAN and CISA
